The 2024 Sunway-Rapid KL Good Run was a resounding success, drawing a whopping 10,000 enthusiastic runners to Sunway City Kuala Lumpur. This vibrant event, held on Southeast Asia’s first elevated BRT lanes, marked another incredible milestone in Sunway’s year-long 50th-anniversary celebration.
But the real win goes beyond the finish line. The Good Run raised over RM430,000 for five worthy charities across the country: UNICEF, Generating Opportunities for the Learning Disabled (GOLD), the National Cancer Society of Malaysia, Women of Will (WOW), and “Rumah Perlindungan Darul Ukhwah.”
From the starting flag waved off by YB Michelle Ng, Subang Jaya state assembly person, to the vibrant race village bustling with activity, the Good Run was a testament to the power of community.
“Events like the Sunway-Rapid KL Good Run are crucial for fostering a spirit of togetherness and empowering community engagement,” said Ng, highlighting the importance of such initiatives.
More than a Run, a Celebration of Wellness

The Good Run offered something for everyone, with runners tackling distances of 21.1 km (half marathon), 10 km, and 5 km. The lively race village at Sunway Geo Avenue provided a welcome post-run haven, brimming with fun and educational booths from Sunway Theme Parks, Sunway Healthcare Group, Sunway Property, UNICEF, Rapid KL, and more.
Sunway Healthcare Group President, Dato’ Lau Beng Long, emphasized the event’s focus on healthy living, “We are passionate about promoting a healthy lifestyle for all ages,” he stated, “and this run perfectly encourages physical activity while supporting those in need.”
A Partnership for Good
This successful event was a collaborative effort between Sunway Group and Rapid Bus. CEO Rapid Bus CEO, Muhammad Yazurin Sallij, echoed the sentiment, “This partnership allowed us to promote a healthy and active lifestyle while strengthening our connection with the community.”
Sunway’s 50th Anniversary: A Commitment to Doing Good

The Sunway-Rapid KL Good Run is just one example of Sunway’s ongoing commitment to social responsibility under their #SunwayforGood initiative. This philosophy of “doing well by doing good” aims to leave no one behind.
Their upcoming Meal Pack-a-thon, a partnership with Rise Against Hunger, is a testament to this commitment. Here, Sunway aims to pack two million meals for underprivileged communities in Malaysia and beyond.
As a leading conglomerate in Southeast Asia, Sunway is also deeply invested in sustainability and social inclusion. They are proud partners with the Malaysian AIDS Foundation (MAF), Malaysian AIDS Council (MAC), and the Ministry of Health, working towards ending AIDS by 2030.
